7. Garneau Summer Concert Series | July 6
   Imagine if Roy Orbison and Townes Van Zandt co-wrote a song - weird - but it works. Sammy Volkov'’s songs caress the ear like homages to Brill Building songwriters while capturing his cinematic approach to music-making. Sammy’s ‘Be Alright!’ was the first album to debut at #1 on Alberta’s CKUA Top 30 Chart and his 2024 album of duets with Dana Wylie ('The Day Had To Come') topped Bandcamp’s ‘Best Country Music of 2024’ list. Sammy sophomore solo album, "Songs From the Goodbye Garden," is due out in 2026.

Customise your zines using mixed-media and collage techniques and then reproduce your creations into multiples to trade with other participants. 

9. Discover New Art at the Whyte Avenue Art Walk | July 11-13
   Discover new art or a new artist at the Whyte Avenue Art Walk.

   Visit the installation by Taiessa in what we leave, what we take, and learn about how colonial structures have impacted our environment. Learn the basics of needle felting to create a take-away plant of your own. Green thumbs are not required!   

4. Eat & Drink at Taste of Edmonton | July 17 - 27
   Taste of Edmonton is the largest food and entertainment in Western Canada. It’s a delicious way to discover a new favourite Edmonton restaurant or become reacquainted with a go-to. Spend an evening or afternoon summer discovering what’s on at the Taste of Edmonton 2025.

5. Watch ET On an Outdoor Movie Screen at Midnight | July 18
   Catch a midnight screening of ET on the big screen at Balwin Community. This midnight movie will start around 11, and concessions are available on-site, and on the cheap. Bring your chair, blankets and get ready to watch a classic, outdoors.

6. Pancake Breakfast and Free KDays Admission | July 18
   The ten best days of summer will be even better this year – and tastier – with the KDays Premier’s Breakfast presented by North Central Co-op, on Friday, July 18 from 9 AM to 11 AM at the rejuvenated Klondike Park at Edmonton EXPO Centre. The first 5,000 people to show up will receive a free pancake breakfast and free admission courtesy of North Central Co-op to KDays when the grounds open at 11:00 a.m.

7. Carrot Birthday Celebration and Chalk it Up Festival | July 19
   Celebrate The Carrot’s 18th Birthday with Chalk-It-Up! on July 19th. The festivities kick off at 9 AM with a delicious free pancake breakfast, live music, and talented chalk artists turning the Ave into a colorful masterpiece.

8. Chinatown After Dark | July 19
   This is our version of a Chinatown Night Market where we transform our back alleys into our patio and play space, bringing in seating, entertainment, activities and good vibes while allowing patrons to buy food tickets and curate their dinner spread from over 20 Chinatown restaurants. Imagine Taste of Edmonton but in Chinatown!

9. Adult Open Studio: Printed Patterns | July 24
   Investigate the possibilities of composition and pattern before silkscreening your unique design on paper. Learn the basics of silkscreen, including making and cutting stencils, pulling a multi-layered image and registration. Bring some fabric if you want to try printing on textiles. 

10. Props & Hops at Alberta Aviation Museum | July 25
    Props & Hops is a one-night-only, adults-only takeover of the museum that transforms childhood nostalgia into grown-up fun. While the kids are out for summer, we’re bringing the field trip vibes back — but with local brews, food trucks, and a full evening of entertainment.

    Hoop City 3x3 Basketball Festival. Whoomp, there it is! Basketball's greatest 3x3 athletes return to Edmonton this summer for the 2025 FIBA 3x3 World Tour & Women's Series and Hoop City 3x3 Festival.
