A string quartet plays Fleetwood Mac by candlelight at Triffo Theatre, including "Dreams," "Go Your Own Way," "Landslide," and "The Chain."

5. Free Community Pancake Breakfast

The Edmonton Inn & Conference Centre on Kingsway is hosting a free pancake breakfast to kick off the 52nd Canadian Finals Rodeo, from 8 to 11 a.m. There's live music, a petting zoo, and glitter tattoos for the kids.

Parking is free too. If you're going to the 11 a.m. rodeo matinée at Rogers Place, a free shuttle leaves the hotel starting at 10:30 a.m. Shuttle space is first come, first served, and rodeo tickets are sold separately.

6. Spooktacular Ceramic Ghosts Workshop

Spend two hours in Stephanie Jonsson's downtown studio shaping a ceramic ghost out of raw clay. You'll take home Halloween décor you made yourself.

No experience is needed. The $60 fee covers clay and kiln firing. There are morning and afternoon sessions with small groups, and it's 18+.

7. Ballet of Lights: Sleeping Beauty

Six local dancers perform Sleeping Beauty at Triffo Theatre in glow-in-the-dark costumes, so every movement leaves a trail of colour in the dark.

8. Women of Song: A Celebration of Singer-Songwriters

Four female-led Alberta acts play the Arden Theatre in St. Albert, hosted by Chelsea Bird:
