Tell someone you’re struggling with money and they’ll usually ask about your budget. Dark Side of Money is a free monthly conversation series that starts from a different idea: the budget is where money trouble shows up, not where it begins.
This month, host Rheanna Height sits down with Jill Poulton, a military veteran, former banker and coach who works closely with Edmonton’s veteran community. They’ll talk about the shame, pride and old beliefs that drive money decisions, and how to spot when fear is the one making the call.
This isn’t a budgeting workshop, and nobody will ask you to share your numbers. It’s for veterans and civilians alike, and for anyone who has left the mail unopened or walked out of a bank feeling judged.
There’s an hour to mingle before the talk, with food and drinks available at The Bell in Scona.
