Edmonton City as Museum Project leads a downtown walking tour exploring the working-class stories that helped build the city.
Along the way, you'll learn about Indigenous labour history and the pemmican industry, women workers at the Great Western Garment factory, immigrant contributions to city infrastructure, and key strikes and protests — including the 1947 Chocolate Bar Strike.
There's also a taste of modern pemmican, a look at where Edmontonians have worked throughout the river valley, and a chance to make your own protest sign.
The tour is all ages and runs multiple dates over the summer, starting from the Royal Alberta Museum.
