The Edmonton Drag Festival is a vibrant three-day celebration of drag artistry, 2SLGBTQIA+ culture, inclusion, and community taking place in downtown Edmonton. The festival brings together local performers, international drag artists, musicians, dancers, comedians, vendors, and allies for a family-friendly Pride-focused experience filled with live entertainment, cultural showcases, workshops, and interactive events.
Friday evening serves as the official kickoff to the festival with opening performances and queer talent showcases running from approximately 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM. Saturday features a full day of programming from noon into the evening, including headline drag performances, meet-and-greets, community activations, and outdoor entertainment throughout Churchill Square. Sunday focuses more heavily on cultural celebration and community engagement, including Pride and 2-Spirit programming alongside the festival’s closing performances.
The atmosphere of the event is designed to be vibrant, accessible, family-friendly, and community-driven. General admission programming is free to attend, although certain VIP experiences, special performances, and meet-and-greet opportunities may require tickets or upgraded passes.
