Tree Canada and the City of Edmonton's Root for Trees program mark National Tree Day with a community tree planting at Terwillegar Park on Thursday, September 24, from 3 to 6 p.m. Volunteers will plant trees, clear invasive species, and apply compost to help restore habitat along the North Saskatchewan River. Tree Canada experts and experienced volunteers will be on site to guide the work and answer questions, with gloves and shovels provided. Families are welcome to bring their enthusiasm and spend an afternoon giving back to one of Edmonton's most-loved natural spaces.
