Families across the Edmonton region can head out to the farm this August as Alberta Open Farm Days returns for its 14th year. On August 15 and 16, farms, ranches, and food producers throughout the province open their gates for a free, behind-the-scenes look at where food comes from. Visitors can walk the fields, meet the animals, and chat with the farmers and producers who grow and raise what ends up on our plates. Many locations also offer farm-to-table meals, samples, and Alberta-made products for purchase. Each host farm sets its own hours and activities, so families are encouraged to check individual farm listings before planning their visit.
