Lauren Joan Art hosts an afternoon of creative writing in the garden at McCauley Community Orchard.
Guided prompts and time spent wandering the orchard lead into writing a poem on Canadian wildflower seed paper. Participants are invited to read their poem aloud, after which it's photographed and planted in the community — a small act meant to tie creativity back into the neighbourhood.
Spots are limited to 12 attendees to keep the gathering intimate. A short questionnaire and contact info are requested ahead of time, and poems created during the event may contribute to a future collective artwork (with fair compensation to contributors if it generates profit).
A donation is requested, with all proceeds going to Sustainable Food Edmonton and community arts initiatives.
