Soul Asylum returns to Edmonton on August 25, bringing more than four decades of rock and roll to the Midway Music Hall stage. Formed in Minneapolis in 1981, the band built a devoted following through relentless touring and raw live energy before breaking into the mainstream with 1992's triple-platinum album Grave Dancers Union, home to the Grammy-winning hit Runaway Train.
Frontman Dave Pirner and company still deliver that same unvarnished, guitar-driven sound live, mixing longtime favorites with cuts from their more recent releases. Doors open at 7:00 PM at Midway Music Hall, 6107-104 Street NW.
