Country Social: On The Way — Rice Howard Way Block Party on August 29 is where Country goes off-road. This weekend, Rice Howard Way hosts five acts, five takes on what country can sound like.
1–2 PM: Dahlia & Alan Duo
Powerhouse vocals and road-tested harmonies — a little country, a lot of rock and roll.
2:15–2:45 PM: Aveya
Rising St. Albert country artist with Nashville stage time and a debut single, Put On A Show, that she's ready to live up to.
3–4 PM: The Lowly Gents
Finger-picked guitar and country-flavoured folk punk. Several genres in, nobody's asked to leave.
4:30–5:30 PM: Mallory Chipman
Prairie folk-rock with acrobatic vocals and fearless storytelling. Her album Songs to a Wild God hit #1 on CKUA.
6–7 PM: The Hearts
Six musicians close it out with dreamy North Americana — glitter, grit, moody harmonies.
Free to attend.
