Put a fruit tree in the ground and it outlives you. The City's Root for Trees crew is planting native fruiting trees and shrubs in Silverberry — you dig, you learn how the urban forest works, you go home with a free wildflower plant and Kind ice cream. Closed-toe shoes required. Crocs don't count.
