About the Edmonton International Film Festival
Running since 1986, EIFF is one of Alberta's longest-standing film festivals and an Oscar-qualifying festival for short films. Over roughly ten days, it screens more than 100 independent, international, and Canadian features and shorts — all Edmonton premieres — alongside intimate filmmaker chats, gala screenings, and its long-running downtown "Lunchbox Shorts" series.
Festival Highlights
Edmonton premieres of buzzy films travelling the international festival circuit
Filmmaker Q&As and in-person guest appearances
A dedicated spotlight on Alberta-made cinema
Opening and closing gala events
Tickets & Passes
Single tickets and multi-film festival passes are sold through the official EIFF box office. Passes are the best value for multi-day attendees and typically go on sale in late summer — book early, as gala and marquee screenings sell out first.
