Edmonton Heritage Festival 2026

Heritage Festival is the world’s largest three-day celebration of multiculturalism and one of the reason that Edmonton is renowned as a festival city. This year, the festival makes a return to its original location at Hawrelak Park, with pavilions from around the globe.

It’s free to visit - one of the most popular free things to do in August and you’ll only pay for what you eat or buy.

About the Festival

It’s a three day festival where the park transforms into a global village. This year, there’s 60+ pavilions representing more than 100+ countries and cultures from around the globe. You can catch folk music and dance on more than 25 stages, explore cultural displays and learn about Edmonton’s diverse communities.

Admission & Payment

Entry is free, as is watching every performance making it an easy full-day outing on a budget. A donation to Edmonton's Food Bank is encouraged at the gates. Food and goods are bought directly from pavilion vendors. Note that recent years have gone cashless (credit/debit only, no food-ticket booklets), so bring a card to pay for the food and drink dishes at the pavilions.

Getting There

There's no public parking on-site, so plan ahead: ETS Park & Ride, taxi/rideshare, biking, or walking are the recommended ways in. It’s easier than it sounds to use the park and ride or shuttle - don’t let that keep you away from this incredible Edmonton festival.
