Forbidden Love: Brahms, Tchaikovsky and Wagner at Winspear Centre

  • Winspear Centre 4 Sir Winston Churchill Square Northwest Edmonton, AB, T5J 4B2 Canada (map)

After his unforgettable debut in October 2024, pianist Jaeden Izik-Dzurko (of Salmon Arm, BC) returns to perform the work with which he won the 2024 Leeds Piano Competition—Brahms' epic Piano Concerto No. 2.

Wagner's Prelude to his innovative opera Tristan and Isolde conveys melodramatic longing with aching harmonic progressions and unmatched emotional intensity.

Tchaikovsky's tone poem of Francesca da Rimini’s tragic tale completes this romantic program steeped in passion, drama, and doomed love.
