Rachel Meyer's Mama, do we die when we sleep? comes to Freemasons Hall on October 15 and 16, presented by Brian Webb Dance Company.
The piece began with a question from Rachel's two-year-old daughter, the kind of thing only a small child would think to ask out loud. That question became the starting point for a new contemporary dance work about the emotion of wonder.
Over the course of the performance, imagination and dream-space slip into the structures of responsibility and conformity that shape everyday life. What might look like disruption becomes a necessary invitation to possibility.
Performances are at 8 PM both nights at Freemasons Hall of Edmonton (10318 100 Ave NW). Tickets are $25 for students and seniors and $40 for general admission.
