Texan singer-songwriter Paul Cauthen — nicknamed "Big Velvet" for his booming baritone — brings his outlaw country and Americana sound to Edmonton.

Cauthen got his start in the roots duo Sons of Fathers before going solo with his debut album My Gospel. He's since built a catalog spanning gospel-tinged country, honky-tonk and rock, including standout tracks "Cocaine Country Dancing" and "Big Velvet." His latest album, Book of Paul, came out in April 2026.

Known for raucous, full-band live shows, Cauthen has played Stagecoach, Austin City Limits, and the Grand Ole Opry, and has shared stages with artists like Margo Price, Orville Peck, and Midland.
