Weeknights in Edmonton are getting spooky. This week brings Halloween sushi rolling, a haunted cabaret, a spooky paint and sip, and enough comedy to fill every night from Monday on, including a free show and a pay-what-you-can night. Skip the couch and go do something.
Things to Do in Edmonton This Week, October 19–25, 2026
Cheer On the Edmonton Non-Fiction Story Slam | Wednesday
Ten locals get five minutes each to tell a true story from their own lives, with no notes and no fiction allowed. LitFest teams up with Edmonton Story Slam for the night at 9910 on 109 Street, and the audience helps decide who wins. Admission is free.
See Yaga at Shadow Theatre
Kat Sandler’s play drops a big-city detective into a remote town where the heir to a yogurt fortune has gone missing, and the locals keep bringing up an old witch. It’s part murder mystery, part dark comedy, and a sharp reclaiming of Baba Yaga from the men who’ve told her story for centuries. Catch it before it closes November 1.
Catch Neil deGrasse Tyson on Stage | Tuesday
Asteroids, comets and the space rocks that have rewritten Earth’s history are the subject of Cosmic Collisions, Tyson’s talk at the Jubilee Auditorium. He also covers how scientists plan to deflect the next one, so you’ll leave with a better sense of the odds.
Irrational Comedy Night | Wednesday
A beer in one hand and a full stand-up lineup on 124 Street. Katie Yoner hosts, Leif Oleson-Cormack headlines, and BJ Mac brings a guitar to the set.
A Night with Delta Daggers | Wednesday
Delta Daggers grew up in Edmonton and built a career in cabaret. For one night only at the Grindstone, she turns that life into the show.
Ha-Ha-Haunting Hits the Stage with the Weekly Pay-What-You-Can Night | Thursday
The ghosts are local and the history checks out, but the scenes are made up on the spot. Rapid Fire Theatre teams its improvisers with the author of Dead Centre of Town to riff on Old Strathcona’s hauntings. On Thursdays you set the ticket price.
Halloween Paint & Sip | Friday
Bring a friend and grab a drink, then follow along as a spooky canvas comes together brush stroke by brush stroke at Echo Studio. Skill level doesn’t matter, and your painting goes home with you.
Get Scared at Deadmonton | Every Night this Week
Thirteen years in, Deadmonton has moved into the former Edmonton Sun building. One ticket gets you through all three houses: Cursed, The Asylum and The Rejects. Between houses, the outdoor yard has cocktails, snacks and actors who don’t stay in their lane. Skip the parking hassle with the free shuttle from 49 Street.
Or, an Outdoor Haunt at Warwa Woods | Friday to Sunday
For three nights only, a summer camp west of the city becomes a haunted trail through the trees, with a storyline centred on The Lady of the Lake. Every ticket helps cover camp fees for kids from lower-income families.
Take a Paranormal Tour at Fort Edmonton Park
Pick up an EMF reader and a spirit box and see what answers. One route explores 1885 Street, including Kelly’s Saloon and the Bellerose School. The other focuses on Rowand House, which staff consider one of the most active buildings in the park. These are real investigations, so the ghosts may or may not cooperate.
