Watch a Horror Classic at the Capitol Theatre Every Tuesday This October

Fort Edmonton Park's Capitol Theatre is turning its Tuesdays over to horror this month. Every week in October, the 1920s-style movie house is screening a different scary-movie staple, from slasher favourites to the slow-burn dread of the late '60s. Doors open a 6:30, film starts at 7:30 - and it’s first come, first served for seats. Get there early to get the best seats.

What’s playing at Fort Edmonton Park Spooky Tuesday

October 6: Scream

The one that made a whole generation check behind the shower curtain. A year after her mother's death, Sidney Prescott is targeted by a masked killer, and she and her friends have to use everything they know about horror movies to work out who's behind it. Rated 18A.

October 13: Friday the 13th

Camp Crystal Lake has a dark past, but a group of young counsellors ignores the locals' warnings and opens it back up anyway. It doesn't go well. Rated 14A for gory violence.

October 20: Rosemary's Baby

Rosemary and her actor husband move into a New York apartment building with a bad reputation and some very attentive neighbours. Once she becomes pregnant, she grows more isolated and more convinced that something is wrong. It's still one of the most unsettling films ever made. Rated 14A.

October 27: Carrie

This Stephen King adaptation follows Carrie White, a shy teen bullied at school and controlled by her zealous mother at home, as she discovers she has telekinetic powers. When she's invited to prom, she starts to let her guard down. Rated 18A.

Here’s What you should Know Before you go

  • Park in Lot G behind the Capitol Theatre. Drive down the service road and check in at the Guardhouse, because the Front Entry Plaza is closed for the season. Transit isn't recommended, since the service road isn't walkable.

  • Outside food and drinks aren't allowed. The concession is open before the film and at intermission.

  • Theatre doors close when the movie starts, and latecomers aren't refunded.

  • You can buy tickets online in advance or at the Capitol Theatre box office.
